Appalachia Service Project
Goal of Program
Host volunteers around the country to provide emergency home repair to families in Central Appalachia. In this process, staff will explore the relationship between faith and service while discerning God's call in their life.

Volunteer management, facilitating home repair, assessing family needs, facility and financial management of the program.

Central Appalachia - North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky, West Virginia
Service Length
Long-term: 12 months - May to May Short-term: 11 weeks - End of May to early August
Program Size
Long-term: Total - 15. Short-Term: 140. Both have 4 per location.
Requirements
18 years old, CPR certified, and drivers license. Desire to serve volunteers, homeowners, staff and God.
Financial Arrangements
Long-term: $11,000 - Health insurance (if you don't have it). Short-term: $4,000. Both: Housing, transportation and food.
Living Arrangements
Long-term: Apartment at an ASP facility with a private room, shared living space and bathrooms. Short-term: Shared living arrangement, cot or air mattress
Training
Construction project management with basic tools and skills, conflict resolution, cultural sensitivity, basic vehicle maintenance, and position training.
