Franciscan Community Volunteers
Goal of Program
Franciscan Community Volunteers seek to match young adults' passions to a non-profit in need. Using the Franciscan lens of living the Gospel, we serve the poor, live simply and grow together in faith and community.
Type of Placement
Placements include: youth mentoring, homeless outreach, social service agencies, special education, child care at Domestic Abuse Shelter, healthcare outreach, Hispanic outreach, senior services, etc. Placement sites are determined depending upon the gifts, talents, and preference of the individual volunteer and the needs of the community.

Program Size
Up to seven volunteers.
Requirements
Individuals between the ages of 20-30 who desire to live in a community with other volunteers. College degree or equivalent life experience and an openness to the Catholic faith are required.
Financial Arrangements
We provide room and board, stipend, health insurance, and loan forbearance (when available). Housing is provided in community, each volunteer will have a private bedroom. Upon completion of FCV there is up to a $5,000 education award available.
Living Arrangements
Volunteers live in an intentional community with three Franciscan Sisters, sharing household responsibilities.
Training
An initial week of orientation, a closing retreat and two weekend retreats. On-site training and supervision, and weekly community discussion/reflection on the Gospel call to justice, peacemaking, and a value-centered life. In addition, sharing from the heart weekly to delve and go deeper into our spirituality.
