Franciscan Volunteer Ministry (FVM) is a year-long faith formation and service program for lay men and women between the ages of 18 and 35. FVM has three core values: intentional community, direct ministry, and expressed prayer. FVM covers room and board, access to a community car, a monthly stipend, and four retreats throughout the year. We also offer health insurance for volunteers who need coverage (including co-pays and prescriptions), and we assist with student loans once the grace period has ended.

FVM volunteers to eat together, pray together, and have fun together at least once a week. Typically they have 3-5 different ministries in which they are involved. Our volunteers do everything from serving in a restaurant-style soup kitchen to social services with immigrant communities to serving in schools, hospitals, and prisons. There are opportunities for parish ministry, peace and justice ministry, and community outreach and organization.
