L’Arche St. Louis and Vincentian Mission Corps – Americorps Award available

Posted on:
Start: Aug 14, 2021 / End: Jun 18, 2022 / Location: St. Louis, MO

The Vincentian Mission Corps is looking for a volunteer to serve as an assistant with L’Arche St. Louis beginning August 14, 2021. At L’Arche, persons with a developmental disability are known as “core members,” and “assistants” are those who come to share life with them. Assistants accompany core members in their activities of daily life: creating home and supporting core members in sharing their gifts within the house and the larger community. Vincentian Mission Corps members live in St. Louis in a community with 3-5 other volunteers. Our volunteers learn about Vincentian spirituality, faith, simple living, and social justice. VMC members receive housing, a monthly food and living stipend, transportation, professional development, health insurance if needed, potential student loan deferment, and a $6000 award upon successful completion of the program. Please contact [email protected] with any questions.

VMC is also dedicated to growing as an anti-racist organization, dismantling white supremacy, and working to build a more just society. We are looking for applicants who are interested in seriously engaging with this mission in a spirit of humility, openness, and vulnerability.
