Mercy Medical Center is a community hospital located in downtown Baltimore where a diverse population is served. It was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1874 to address the dearth of healthcare services available to the underserved and continues to stay true to that mission today. Mercy Medical Center is one of the few hospitals in the nation with a Magnet designation. The campus includes a state-of-the-art, 300-bed patient tower. A volunteer is needed to serve as a Registered Nurse. The volunteer will work in any unit that matches the volunteer’s skills/interests. Previous volunteers have served in the Mother & Baby Unit,  Emergency Department, and more.

Mercy Volunteers promote social change through a year of service in the spirit of mutuality with people experiencing injustice. While serving, Mercy Volunteers cultivate mercy and justice by embracing compassionate service, social justice, spiritual growth, and a simple lifestyle in community. Volunteers receive housing, transportation, monthly stipends, and health insurance, and can differ student loans. There are opportunities to participate in retreats, spiritual direction, and mentoring.
