Augustinian Volunteers are looking for long-term volunteers to serve from August 2020 to June 2021. The AVs have openings for those seeking a unique opportunity to serve in Campus Ministry. The volunteer(s) serves in various capacities depending on the service placement. Some of which are the following:
• The volunteer’s primary role at Merrimack College is to coordinate the school’s effort to engage the students in service to the wider local community. They organize the seasonal donation drives throughout the year and assists in organizing and overseeing the school’s day of service, Mack Gives Back. Additionally, the volunteer works at Merrimack’s resource center in Lawrence, Hands to Help, to assist in the various programs that run out of that office, mainly the after school tutoring program for local elementary and middle school students.
• The volunteer serves in the campus ministry office with the Director of Campus Ministry and the Director of Christian Service. They assist in several capacities including retreat planning, service trips to Tijuana, Mexico and St. Vincent de Paul Village, administrative work and a variety of other responsibilities.
