The Augustinian Volunteers are seeking volunteers to serve in social service placements!
When: Mid/late August 2021 to mid/late June 2022
-Social service: the volunteer serves in various capacities depending on the service placement. Some of which are the following:
• The volunteer serves with the Asylee Outreach Project as an Asylee Navigator, providing initial assessment, information, and case management services to clients. They accompany clients experiencing difficulties in accessing services and advocates against structural barriers in government systems that hinder asylee self-sufficiency.
• The volunteer works primarily with the Community Assistance Program, which provides basic needs and case management services for the homeless and low-income residents. This program provides daily lunches, food, employment and referral services to clients, which the volunteers will interact with directly on a daily basis. The volunteer also works closely to coordinate the annual Holiday Adopt-a-Family program, and is involved with tasks ranging from grant writing, to budgeting and financial planning.
