Licensed Special Education Teachers and Intervention Specialists are needed to serve as Mercy Volunteers at St. Michaels Association for Special Education in the Navajo Nation. SMASE provides comprehensive day and residential services for Diné children and young adults with moderate to severe disabilities. Mercy Volunteers serve on a team of teachers, therapists, and aides to provide education to develop functional and daily living tasks.
Mercy Volunteer Corps promotes social change by placing and supporting volunteers for one year of service in healthcare, education, and social services. Mercy Volunteers compassionately serve in the spirit of mutuality within economically poor and socially marginalized communities in the United States and South America. Volunteers live together in an intentional community and commit to spiritual growth and a simple/sustainable lifestyle. All volunteers are provided with housing, transportation, monthly stipends, and more.
