Option 1: Long-term Service Program – 27 months – Spanish Helpful, not Required
August 1st, 2024 – December 4th, 2025
Our long term program participants (“misioneros” y “misioneras”) commit to 16 months with our mission, starting with language school in August of each year. Most work in some capacity in our K-9 school as English, special education, and/or kindergarten teachers, while medical professionals work alongside our medical staff at our on-site clinic. We also have needs for those with specialized skills including engineering and construction. All of our misionero/as also serve in a variety of capacities to keep our organization running and thriving, including working with our after-school and vocational training/preparation programs. All partake in the faith life of our community and walk alongside our kids. We welcome individuals and families.
Applications for our long-term service program are accepted on a rolling basis, with a priority deadline of Feb 15th. We’re still seeking Fall 2024 applicants.
Option 2: Summer Program – 10 weeks – Spanish Required
June 1st – August 8th, 2024
Our “summer vols” come down for 8-10 weeks over the summer and serve in many of the same capacities as above. They commonly step into teaching roles in our school and serve alongside our long-term volunteers. Some years we have space for someone to help out in our clinic as well. We’re also open to exploring other ideas if you have a specific skill set you’d like to share.
Applications for our summer program are due on Feb 15th and accepted on a rolling basis after that.
Option 3: Interested, but on a different timeline?
Reach out anyway at missions@farmofthechild.org or fill out this form! We may have some specific needs outside of our standard programs’ timeframes and would love to hear more. Bonus points if you already speak Spanish.
