Heart’s Home USA is seeking young adults (ages 18-30) to give 1-2 years to live in one of their mission homes throughout the world (spread throughout 26 countries), most of which are located in slums or impoverished areas. Volunteers live in a simple home with a community of 4-6 international young adult volunteers, share an intense prayer life (Daily Mass, Rosary, Holy Hour, and Liturgy of the Hours), and offer A MINISTRY OF PRESENCE to all those they encounter in their neighborhoods, especially those that suffer the most – the isolated, lonely, and abandoned. By offering their gratuitous friendship, volunteers strive to make Christ’s love and mercy, and Mary’s compassion and consolation, incarnate in the lives of their friends. Through authentic, transformative relationships, volunteers desire to restore a sense of human dignity to the forgotten and suffering. Volunteers also regularly visit places of deep suffering such as jails, hospitals, and orphanages. We are in need of Christ-seeking young people who desire to make a radical gift of self and encounter Christ in the heart of the slums.
