Catholic Volunteer Network at the 2025 National Service Training: Faith, Justice, and the Power of Partnership
Catholic Volunteer Network was proud to participate in the 2025 National Service Training, hosted by America’s Service Commissions—a vibrant national gathering of changemakers working to strengthen volunteerism and national service across the country.
Representing CVN, our Executive Director, Cecilia Flores, led two inspiring sessions that invited attendees to reflect deeply on the intersection of faith, service, and community action:
-
Community Organizing Tools for Volunteer Agencies to Tackle the Issues that Matter Most
-
Bridging Service and Faith: Strategies for Meaningful Partnerships (part of the Volunteer Engagement Fund Convening)
These sessions offered practical tools and reflective space for volunteer-based organizations to more intentionally engage with the communities they serve—especially in this critical moment for justice, equity, and solidarity.

One of the highlights of the gathering was our first-time collaboration with Repair the World, a partner equally committed to mobilizing people of faith in pursuit of justice. Together, we explored how organizing principles, interfaith partnerships, and purpose-driven service can be harnessed to build more equitable communities and deepen collective impact.
We left the training inspired by the many individuals and organizations dedicated to transformative service—and energized by new relationships, renewed purpose, and bold ideas for the future.
At Catholic Volunteer Network, we believe faith-inspired service can be a powerful catalyst for change. We’re eager to keep building bridges across communities and sectors—working together to reimagine what a just and compassionate world can look like.
