Goal of Program: 
Franciscan Community Volunteers seek to match young adults' passions to a non-profit in need. Using the Franciscan lens of living the Gospel, we serve the poor, live simply and grow together in faith and community.
Type of Placement: 
Placements include: youth mentoring, homeless outreach, social service agencies, special education, child care at Domestic Abuse Shelter, healthcare outreach, Hispanic outreach, senior services, etc. Placement sites are determined depending upon the gifts, talents, and preference of the individual volunteer and the needs of the community.

St. Cloud, Minnesota
Service Length: 
11 month program beginning in August
Requirements: 
Individuals between the ages of 20-30 who desire to live in a community with other volunteers. College degree or equivalent life experience and an openness to the Catholic faith are required.
Financial Arrangement: 
We provide room and board, stipend, health insurance, and loan forbearance (when available). Housing is provided in community, each volunteer will have a private bedroom. Upon completion of FCV there is up to a $5,000 education award available.
Living Arrangements: 
Volunteers live in an intentional community with three Franciscan Sisters, sharing household responsibilities.
Program Size: 
Up to seven volunteers.
Training: 
An initial week of orientation, a closing retreat and two weekend retreats. On-site training and supervision, and weekly community discussion/reflection on the Gospel call to justice, peacemaking, and a value-centered life. In addition, sharing from the heart weekly to delve and go deeper into our spirituality.

URGENT: GIRL SCOUT ACTION COORD. with $5,000 Education Award!

The Girl Scout ACTION Coordinator works with the after-school Girl Scout series for girls. This program has two components. 1-Fall series is about diversity and traveling around the world - talking to people from all around the world, cooking tradition food, and lots more. The spring series is STEM Robotics! This position is amazing and gives you an opportunity to really make a difference in the lives of girls - through empowerment and leadership!! Franciscan Community Volunteers in St. Cloud, MN is looking for long-term volunteers to serve August 2018 to July 1, 2019 at the Girl Scouts of MN and WI. (see above for description) This position is eligible for full-time $5,000 FCV funded Education Award. Franciscan Community Volunteers is an ecumenical program that serves the poor and those on the margins for 11 months. FCV has three pillars: meaningful service, intentional community and Franciscan spirituality. The volunteers live in intentional community with other volunteers and Franciscan Sisters during the service year. Franciscan Community Volunteers in St. Cloud, MN is looking for long-term volunteers to serve August 2018 to July 1, 2019 in a Youth Transitional/Homeless Housing Program. The volunteer will work with young girls through the Girl Scout Program - going into after school programming in poor school districts. This position is eligible for full-time $5,000 FCV funded Education Award. Franciscan Community Volunteers is an ecumenical program that serves the poor and those on the margins for 11 months. FCV has three pillars: meaningful service, intentional community and Franciscan spirituality.
