Goal of Program: We are an international, faith-based NGO providing long-term, co-operative, medical and development aid to communities affected by poverty and unequal access to healthcare.

For over a century, we have worked to strengthen and support communities through healthcare programs and initiatives, the distribution of medicines and medical supplies, and the placement of volunteers.

Position Summary

For over a century, the organization has worked to strengthen health systems through long-term development programs, the distribution of medicines and medical supplies, and the placement of skilled volunteers in resource-limited settings.
This volunteer program is designed to strengthen practical English communication skills among Spanish-speaking participants in Peru. It emphasizes conversational immersion as a key method for building confidence and fluency, allowing participants to practice English in a supportive, real-world context. The program also introduces essential language concepts relevant to professional environments, travel, and intercultural communication. Through interactive activities and guided discussions, participants develop their speaking and listening skills while gaining greater confidence in using English in everyday situations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Support English language development through conversational practice,
Interactive activities and guided discussions tailored to participants’ learning needs.
Assist learners in improving speaking, listening, pronunciation, vocabulary, and overall communication skills
Facilitate informal English sessions focused on real-life situations such as travel, workplace communication, daily interactions, and cultural exchange.
Encourage active participation and help participants build confidence when communicating in English.
Adapt teaching approaches and session materials according to the levels.
Assist with organizing learning materials and supporting the overall coordination of English practice sessions when needed.
Qualifications & Skill Requirements
Minimum 6 months of experience in basic teaching, tutoring, or mentoring skills
Fluency in Spanish and English
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Basic knowledge of virtual learning tools and online communication platforms
Ability to create an engaging and supportive learning environment
Teamwork and collaboration skills
Willingness to learn and contribute to community-based educational initiatives

The Communications Volunteer will be responsible for supporting the communications strategy in Peru and ensuring alignment with CMMB’s global communication priorities. This role will involve coordinating local communications efforts, contributing to content creation, and supporting the development and dissemination of informational materials across various digital platforms, including the website and social media channels.

In addition, the volunteer will assist in producing publications, visual content, and other communication assets that effectively highlight CMMB’s programs, community impact, and public health initiatives.
