Lutheran Volunteer Corps (LVC)
Goal of Program
The Lutheran Volunteer Corps motto is “A year of service, a lifetime of commitment.” LVC fellows broaden their knowledge of social justice by being placed in positions at outstanding nonprofit organizations; participating in national, monthly program days learning about social justice topics; and living in community simply and sustainably. Volunteers agree to support and deepen the values around anti-racism/anti-oppression, welcoming of people of color and LGBTQIA+, and exploring diverse religious perspectives. The program offers a learning space necessary for social justice work and leadership and a foundation for living out the values of social justice in the world.
