Description: Friends of San Lucas (FOSL) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to generating support for the Mission in San Lucas Tolimán, Guatemala. Local leadership is at the center of our work and we support community-led solutions to community-identified challenges.
Long-Term Volunteers (LTVs) are full-time volunteer positions, based in the community of San Lucas Tolimán, Guatemala. Successful candidates serve as liaisons between visiting groups and community members by providing Spanish interpretation and accompanying visiting groups to service and education sites. There are typically 5-8 participants that make up the LTV team, and they report to Visitor Program staff based in San Lucas. The minimum commitment for this position is three months and there is no cost to participate. Meals, shared accommodation, and transportation to San Lucas is provided. With flexible start dates, successful candidates just need to get themselves to Guatemala City!

Description: Term: 6+ Months on site
Physicians will champion CMMB's mission by working within the hospital providing comprehensive care, including inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic services, and supportive supervision to local staff to strengthen the local health system in the community. As a Physician, you will have responsibilities divided into four categories: direct healthcare delivery, capacity building, community-based activities and CMMB program support.
Each international volunteer who serves 6 months or longer in the field receives a round-trip ticket to their placement site, housing, a monthly stipend, insurance coverage, storytelling and fundraising training, and the opportunity to contribute to vital community development initiatives for under-served populations while building a longstanding legacy for the community. Volunteers are required to share stories from the field and cover part of the cost of their placement through fundraising/contributions.

Salary and Benefits: No fundraising is required. STFs receive a monthly stipend of $1,200. Our program provides housing, utilities, and relocation for a low cost of living. Fellows have access to loan forbearance, educational grants, and healthcare if necessary.
STFs teach catechesis and provide support at all our schools. They also participate in intentional community, formation, and a sacramental life.

Since 1985, AH is a center of hospitality and services for people who are experiencing homelessness. Named after St. Andre Bessette, a brother in the Congregation of Holy Cross, AH exists to make God known, loved, and served through the works of mercy. Feed and care for alpacas and chickens
Gather, clean and process eggs
Maintain coops, barns and pastures
Learn the different aspects of fiber which include skirting, carding, dyeing, knitting, spinning, weaving, crocheting and felting (winter months)
Use your skills to create fiber products (winter months)
Assist at the local farmers market
Partake in monthly enrichment activities
Present a capstone project of your choice at the end of your experience
Qualifications:
Must have a valid driver’s license
Willingness to learn and the ability to self-direct
Physically fit, capable of lifting and carrying 50 lbs.
Prepared to work in a variety of weather conditions
Eligible to work in the U.S.
