Providence Alliance for Catholic Teachers (PACT)
Goal of Program
The PACT Program offers a two-year, full-time teaching opportunity in New England Catholic schools founded on the pillars of professional service, study, community, and spirituality. PACT teachers live in community together, earn a tuition-free Master's degree in education from Providence College (with eligibility for RI initial teaching certification for those who qualify), and receive a living stipend. The program provides holistic support to our beginning teachers through supervised teaching, retreats, and reflection opportunities. PACT is a member of the University Consortium for Catholic Education (UCCE).
Type of Placement
PACT teachers are placed in partner Catholic elementary and secondary schools. We currently partner with Catholic schools in MA and RI in the (arch)dioceses of Boston, Fall River, Providence, and Worcester. PACT teachers commit to two years of full-time teaching at their placement Catholic school while working towards their M.Ed. at Providence College. PACT teachers live in intentional, faith-based communities with 3-6 fellow PACT teachers and are assigned a community based on their teaching placement.
