Amate House is searching for young adults ages 21-29 (must be 21 by July 26, 2024) who want to commit to living in purposeful community and the communities in Chicago through full time community service. Fellowship starts July 2024 and ends June 2025 (10 1/2 months).
Fellows will engage thoughtfully throughout their experience with the Amate House tenets of community, social justice, stewardship, faith, and service. With a network of over fifty Chicago area non-profits, Amate House works diligently to place fellows in professional jobs geared toward their skills and interests, including positions at legal aid centers, low-income community health clinics, refugee services, women’s empowerment, inner-city schools, parishes, and social service organizations.
Amate house provides all fellows with the following benefits: housing, utilities, food, transportation to and from work site, health insurance if you do not have it, and monthly allowance in order free them up to dedicate their time and energy to serving in Chicago area non-profits. Upon successful completion of your term of service, you will receive a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of $6,895* for the service year that can be applied to previous student loans, future tuition, or future educational expenses.
Every fellow gets an entry level position in a Chicago area non-profit, and we work with each fellow to get them the best fit possible.
