Be a lifeline to children, their families, and the elderly in Appalachia!

Program Timing: Ongoing / Location: Appalachian Kentucky

Volunteers willing to serve for a year to work with children from low-income families in Eastern Kentucky are urgently needed. Volunteers will serve as a part of Christian Appalachian Project: no previous experience is required and all training will be provided. Room and board is provided in intentional community along with a modest living stipend, vacation days, and health insurance.

Many of our participants are isolated and the pandemic has only increased their isolation. Christian Appalachian Project is a lifeline that connects them to someone who cares about their wellbeing, and who sees them when the world has passed them by. Be assured that we are following safety guidelines for our participants, volunteers, and employees during the pandemic.

Our One-Year volunteers are a vital part of programs that connect participants with education, food, and housing repairs.* Perhaps, just as importantly, the volunteers ensure that our participants know that they aren’t forgotten about. That they are cared about. That they are loved.

You could be that volunteer and lifeline for our participants.
