As we move cautiously into our “new normal” the need for volunteers to serve those who are forgotten and live on the fringes of our communities need us more than ever before! Consider a year of service to reach out to those on the margins. . .they need YOU!
Change A Heart Franciscan Volunteer Program is seeking faith-filled young adults ages 21-30 who desire a year of personal and professional growth while walking with the poor and marginalized in the Pittsburgh region. Live in intentional community with others who have a heart for service. Choose a simple lifestyle focused on what you need verses what you want. Take the year developing your relationship with God with others seeking a deeper and more profound spirituality. And choose the non-profit of your choice and the population you would like to serve that fits your talents, education and skills from feeding the hungry, shadowing health care providers as they care for the homeless, provide resources to immigrants or nurturing young children. You can select from a variety of programs in the Pittsburgh region including, Education, Health Care, Social Services and Children & Youth. While in service, the program takes care of housing, food, transportation and you receive a monthly personal stipend.
Our program starts each year at the end of August until the following July. We would love to have you walk with us for a profound experience of change and transformation.
