Why You’ll Serve
You can make a positive impact on children in need in Kentucky! Every summer, Christian Appalachian Project’s (CAP) two residential camps serve more than 1,000 children between the ages of seven and 15 in the beautiful mountains of Appalachia. We charge just $25 per child, so it’s a camp experience that all the families we serve can afford to give their children.
Our summer heroes include more than 60 volunteers and AmeriCorps members from all over the country who join us as camp counselors, lifeguards, nurses, arts & crafts instructors, photography/social media coordinators, office helpers, and cooks.
Where You’ll Serve
CAP Summer Camp Volunteers serve in Eastern Kentucky, which is part of Central Appalachia. Although the region faces many challenges, it is also known for its natural beauty and a rich cultural heritage that includes music, literature, food, and renowned hospitality.
