Navigator, Victim Legal Network of DC (NVRDC-2023)
NVRDC seeks a Navigator for the Victim Legal Network of DC (VLNDC), a project of Network for Victim Recovery of DC. VLNDC is a network of 27 DC legal services providers that work together to provide wraparound legal assistance to individuals who have been harmed by all types of crime. Navigators serve as the hub of this network, conducting client intakes, identifying and triaging clients’ legal needs, and matching each need to the best fit member organization. The Navigator position is a client-facing, direct service position. Fellows gain experience in conducting legal screenings by phone, tracking the progression of an intake, identifying legal issues, writing effective fact summaries for legal analysis, making referrals to legal and other resources, and maintaining relationships with legal and social services providers who participate in the network.
These skills will be relevant to future work in legal and social services settings, especially at nonprofit legal services providers; victim advocacy and social justice organizations; and hotline/intake line management.
