Why I want this volunteer experience:

I believe that volunteering is the most human and empathetic way to give back to the communities. I grew up hearing "who does not live to serve, does not serve to live" and that precisely became part of my daily living, and my purpose in life. I find comfort in going to bed thinking that I did or tried to do a small or a significant action every day to improve somebody else's life or to made someone feel emotionally better, because I have also had the blessing of being surrounded by a supportive system which is my family and my community, people that have taught me that every single action counts, and that being empathetic can make a significant change in the world. I would also like to become a volunteer with your program as I would like to pursue a masters degree in Community and Rural Development, since I studied Agricultural Sciences and I would love to work and develop my career in Community Development with Agriculture as the main focus.

Additional Comments:

I try to find programs that include room and board, as I can not personally finance a volunteering program myself.

Past volunteer experience:

-Volunteering with Primary and Secondary School children from Uganda an Costa Rica aiming to teach students from low income households to implement recycled plastic waste into small scale agriculture, produce their own food, and become self-sustainable. -Landfill and Waste Management negative impacts in my community and how composting can help reducing greenhouse emissions and improve community member’s health. -Encouragement of communities to support local businesses through initiatives such as Community Supported Agriculture and its importance during global crisis as COVID-19.

Additional Educational Experience

I am currently studying biological pest management as an alternative for pesticides use, as well as Animal Vocational Education.
